Greg Chisholm, Senior Pastor

Facebook

Greetings.

Thank you for taking the time to look at Temple's website. I trust it is informative. Please email me if you have a question, concern, or comment. gregorychisholm@gmail.com.

I will attempt to answer some of the common questions people have about me while viewing this site.

1. Who is Greg Chisholm?
I am just an average person. I'm married to Wendy (wedding date: 07.25.1987). We have one daughter (born: 03.2000). I enjoy spending time with them. I make it a priority to go on weekly dates with each of them. Some of our favorite things to do while on dates are: eat, walk along the beach, boogie board, and drive.

2. How old are you?
My birthday is 03.03.1963, so you can figure it out. I lost count at 30. :)

3. Why are you a pastor?
Short answer: God called me, anointed me, and appointed me.

Longer answer: During my 20th year high school reunion (Hayward High School, Hayward CA class of 1981), a classmate that I had not seen since graduation said, "if they let you be a pastor, then anyone can be a pastor." Her surprise was a common theme at the reunion. In high school, I was anything but pastoral. I hated God and Christians alike. I was full of anger and thus did not treat people too nicely.

During my second year in college, just at the end of my second football season, God interrupted my life through a series of events. One day while driving my 1972 brown Pinto, He informed me He was real. He made me an offer. He said Jesus would forgive my sins if I followed Him. I parked my hotrod and prayed this prayer, "God: if you are real, I give you my life and promise to follow you all my days."

That was December 1982. Now 20+ years later, He asked me to pastor at Temple.

4. What do you like about San Francisco?
Hmm. I do not like the fog, all the confusing one-way streets, the long distance from Disneyland, or the housing prices.

I do like the beautiful beaches and parks, the world-class attractions, the hot doughnuts now sign at the neighborhood krispy Kreme Doughnut location, and that people are real. People in San Francisco are not ashamed to be who they are.

5. Why should I visit Temple?
Because God is here. If you are looking for a place where the Supreme Being of the universe is making Himself known, then come and visit us.
